Salt Lake Tribune: Groups challenge plans for Utah tar sands mine – A small Canadian company, in need of millions for its ambitious plans, also is facing stiff opposition from two Utah environmental groups that are trying to thwart its efforts to build one of the first commercial tar sand mines in the country.

MSNBC: Pipeline leak pollutes major Michigan river – Crews were working Tuesday to contain and clean up more than 800,000 gallons of oil that poured into a creek and flowed into the Kalamazoo River in southern Michigan, coating birds and fish.

Provo Daily Herald: Springville pipeline project update – The intersection at 800 South remains closed as crews continue laying this section of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District (CUWCD) pipe. A second crew is laying the CUWCD pipe around 1400 South and is fast approaching Highway 89. They are scheduled to finish this section and move to 100 North around May 28.

Can anyone shed any light on this mysterious editorial?

Ogden Standard Examiner: Clearfield finalizing agreement for a new waterline – A roughly $154,000 upgrade project is out to bid as agreements are being finalized to allow the city to install a new water line under the railroad tracks at 300 North. Last summer, the city ran a water line on 300 North from Main Street to the east side of the railroad, said Public Works Director Scott Hodge.

MSNBC: Computer chips inspire a tiny water purifier – Water may kill a computer chip, but a new water purifier inspired by computer chip technology could save millions of lives.

Deseret News: Ogden OKs 5 million gallon tank – The Ogden City Council recently approved the construction of a 5 million gallon water tank, which is part of a major water system upgrade.

Provo Daily Herald: Century-old wooden pipeline unearthed in Springville – Construction crews digging a trench for a new pipeline along 400 East in Springville found out this week that some of the trench’s previous occupants never vacated.
